Since stab-joint type cast-iron pipe has a long, tapered bell, which has no shoulder for anchoring a bell ring, the Dresser Style 60-S Bell Joint Clamp was designed with two spigot rings to accommodate repair of these type of stab joints. As the nuts are drawn up, the spigot ring exerts simultaneous gasket pressure against the bell face and pipe spigot creating a leak-proof, flexible repair. Special long bolts are supplied for repair of all classes and sizes of cast-iron pipe. This clamp is used to stop leaks through gaskets of asbestos-cement pipe.
